Imagine this happening with the Flood in Halo, if the UNSC and The Covenant instead of joining forces to exterminate the threat, just sent The Arbiter and Johnson to The Gravemind to say “Can’t we all just get along?” Then there’s the Disciples of Anu, they seem to think that if they convert themselves into Pandoran-Human hybrids the encroaching threat will leave them alone. Synedrion’s approach is most absurd, “we’re faced with a natural force that is actively hunting humanity to extinction, so let’s try to find a way to coexist with it”. The ideologies of the factions make no sense. Why is it not an option to plow over enemies with the vehicle at the cost of vehicle health? Balancing reasons I assume, but at that point why bother having these vehicles in combat in the first place. If you try to, the game will either grey out the path you are trying to take, or it will redirect you through some trees and concrete barriers to go around the enemy. You are not allowed to roll over the small-medium sized enemies with your ground vehicles. I like how the player has the option to bring in vehicles to combat missions, though this is not without flaws. The Phoenix weapons and armor specifically strike a nice balance of sci-fi and believable practically that’s over all visually pleasing. The equipment the player can obtain looks really cool. At least those games try to be subtle about the “get bent” situations you may find yourself in.įirst, some things this game gets right. If one of those “games like XCOM” videos lead you to this game, don’t get it just play XCOM 2 or Enemy Unknown / Enemy Within.
